Reliance Petroleum in conjunction with BP will supply a total of 20 Slip-On units to Rural Fire Brigades in Far Northern, Northern, Central, South Western and the North Coast Regions. Slip-On units are ideally suited for fighting small fires, hold up to 500 litres of water, and are designed to mount onto utilities and trucks.

These units will be distributed to selected brigades over the next 12 months.

The Rural Fire Service is made up of more than 1500 Rural Fire Brigades, and has over 35,000 volunteers throughout Queensland. Rural Fire Brigades operate in areas not covered by Queensland Fire and Rescue Service's urban service.

The program was launched in Balcardine on the 30th of September with Grant Rural Fire Brigade being the first to receive a Slip-On unit. Units will be handed over to successful brigades in the coming months.
